Cocoa Packet Analyzer is an application for Mac developed in Cocoa that works as a network protocol analyzer and packet sniffer. This program lets you run basic packet sniffing and it also includes the possibility to filter them according to a regular expression. Select the network interface that you want to capture and then click on 'Start'.
The capture sessions are saved in a PCAP file, an industrial standard for reading, capturing and writing file streams. Don't forget to enable the promiscuous mode to capture all the packets directed to other Mac addresses.
Cocoa Packet Analyzer is compatible with the following protocols: Ethertype ARP, IP (v4/ v6), PPP, PPPoED/S, and 802.1Q VLAN; Linktype, Loopback, and PPP; IP-Protocol IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, and L2TP; PPPoE Discovery and Sessionstages; PPP protocols (IP, LCP, IPCP, CCP, PAP, CHAP) and L2TP, RADIUS, and SIP
